How do you like them Grapefruits: Report Cards

As of Wednesday, all five Phillies starters have taken the mound in the Grapefruit League, which means it's time to assess their performance with a good old fashion report card. What's that, you don't think it's fair to grade them based on two innings of work? Well, guess what, life's not fair.

Roy OswaltRoy Oswalt  B+
Roy the Second, The ViceRoy, Roy Story 2, allowed one earned run after back-to-back one out hits in the second in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Orioles. He gave up one walk and struck out one batter. He mentioned that he was just trying to get the ball in the strike zone and was experimenting with a two-seam fastball, a pitch he doesn't plan on using in the regular season.
Cliff LeeCliff Lee C+  B-
Clifford's grade was automatically rounded up to the next letter grade just for being in a Phillies' (and not a Yankees') uniform this year. His showing Tuesday in the Phillies 6-2 loss against Detroit was forgettable. He started the game by plunking Will Rhymes in the back, later walked another batter and threw a wild pitch. He allowed one hit and two earned runs, but did strike out three batters. His control issues shouldn't be a factor when the season starts; Lee led the league by walking only 18 batters last year.
Roy HalladayRoy Halladay  A
Doc Halladay operated smoothly against his former team Monday, throwing two innings of shutout ball. He struck out one, walked one, and gave up two hits. His grade may fluctuate after I decide if his commercial with the inflatable Carlos Ruiz was funny or weird. http://bit.ly/f0iKKh
Joe BlantonJoe Blanton B+
Blanton did what no other Phillies' starting pitcher was able to do so far, throw a no hitter after three innnings. Hopefully, Blanton will be able to carry over some his post-All Star game success from last year into this year. Some speculate thats he'll be the best No. 5 pitcher in the majors this year, that is, if Amaro doesn't deal him for a right-handed bat and a middle reliever. Big Joe would have had an "A" if he would have followed C.C.'s off season example and cut out the "Cap'n Crunch" and a few lbs.
Cole HamelsCole Hamels B
Hamels only gave up one run (unearned) in the Phillies' opening win against the Yankees. He walked one batter and plunked 1B Mark Texiera in the big toe (hitting Texeira canceled out the points lost for walking a batter). Hamels gave up a two-out double and struck out two.
